The Trusts Arena is a living wage accredited employer!

“Many people contribute to the facilities, arts, culture and sport at the Trusts Arena. The Trusts Arena’s commitment to pay every person the Living Wage will have a huge ripple effect in the community.

When workers make enough to live with dignity, it enhances their personal and family wellbeing. The Living Wage decreases financial stress and sends a strong message to workers that they are valued and appreciated.

The Trusts Arena is the first of its kind to become a Living Wage Employer, so we also commend the Trusts Arena for their leadership.”

– Gina Lockyer, Executive Director, Living Wage Movement Aotearoa NZ

“On behalf of the Principal Partner Council I would like to welcome the Trusts Arena on becoming a Living Wage Employer. By joining this growing movement, they are demonstrating commitment to the common goal that we all share, which is to do our part to help reduce poverty and inequality in New Zealand.”

– Charlotte Ward, Chief People Officer, Kiwibank – member of Living Wage Principal Partners Council.

From September 1st, 2023, The Trusts Arena is Living Wage Accredited.

From the Living Wage Movement website:

The Living Wage means thriving, not just surviving.
The 2023/24 Living Wage rate, starting 1 September 2023, is $26.00.

The Living Wage is an hourly rate. Set apart from the minimum wage, it’s worker and whānau focused.

Paying the Living Wage rate is voluntary. Employers who pay the Living Wage want to make sure their workers get enough money to live with dignity.

The Living Wage considers basic expenses, and gives breathing room for rest, activities, or saving for a rainy day. It’s good for collective wellbeing, and our economy.
