The Trusts Arena aims to make all visitors welcome and ensure they enjoy the wide variety of events that we host. In order to maximise the enjoyment of our venue we ask all patrons to respect the following Conditions of Entry that have been designed to provide a safe and enjoyable venue experience for all.

For Spooks and Sparks, you are allowed to bring picnic or home-prepared food and drink bottles that are under 1 litre.

Prohibited Items: What am I not allowed to bring into the Arena?
Professional Cameras
Cans (including aerosol cans)
Gang patches
Weapons (or any items that could be used as weapons)
Any items that can be thrown
Firecrackers or other incendiary materials or devices
Any other dangerous item
Patron, Bag & Vehicle Searches

All patrons and their possessions may be subject to searches before entering The Arena Searches may also be carried out during an event and when leaving The Arena, Patrons who refuse to participate in searches may be denied entry to The Arena or removed from the venue (by force if considered necessary) All vehicles entering and leaving The Arena may be searched Prohibited items will be confiscated & disposed of.

How will Patron Searches be carried out?

Where patron searches are required, a general pat-down body search will be carried out by security officers. Where patron searches are required of (i) female patrons – they will be carried out by female security officers and (ii) male patrons – by male security officers You will be refused entry or removed from The Arena if security officers consider in their absolute discretion that:

You are intoxicated or under the influence of drugs.
You have any prohibited item (see above) concealed on your person or in your possessions
You refuse to surrender any gang patches or other item requested.
You throw any missile
You enter or attempt to pass over any crowd barrier or enter any prohibited area or restricted access area
You breach any other patrons human rights
You behave in a disorderly, anti-social or offensive manner (including indecent exposure)
You refuse to follow instructions of the Arena or Security staff
You refuse a bag search or patron search

The Trusts Spooks and Sparks Fireworks Extravaganza returns to The Trusts Arena on Saturday 28th November 2020!

Regarded as the largest and most spectacular family friendly Halloween and Fireworks Show in New Zealand, Spooks and Sparks 2020 will feature fantastic family entertainment in the lead up to darkness, followed by a thrilling Laser and Fireworks Show.

With gates opening at 5.30pm, The Trusts Arena carpark will be transformed into a family Fairground, with rides and attractions, a large range of food vendors catering for all tastes, and the popular Bounce House!

This year we will have the feature movie Frozen II playing on our big screen before the live acts begin. Bring your blanket and cushion and take a spot on the bank enjoy over three hours of entertainment, which includes a Police live action display, the amazing Levi Sherwood and the Franklin Farm MotoX riders, Sky Diving show, plus much more as the countdown begins to the amazing Lasers and Fireworks Show.

With everyone encouraged to dress up in Halloween Costume, this family event has something for everyone in a fun, friendly and safe environment, all for the price of a bag of fireworks.

Terms & Conditions – Weather Date

The show date is November 28th, there is a weather date on November 29th. If neither date is able to proceed for weather related reasons then a full refund (excluding fees) will be made to all ticket holders.

In the event that the fireworks element only, of the show is unable to take place on the show date for weather related reasons (wind speeds or persistent rain) then the firework portion will be moved to the 29th


Alert Level Changes

What happens if this event does not go ahead due to any changes in Alert Levels?

If this event is cancelled due to changes in Alert Levels, all tickets will be refunded at face value, exclusive of any transaction fees.


What age range is a child's ticket?

A child’s ticket is for those between 2 – 15. Children under 2 are free.

Are there door sales on the day?

Yes, the box office will be open from 4pm until 9pm

What does a Family Pass include?

A Family Pass includes tickets for 2 x Adults and up to 3 x Children. Children Under 2 do not need to be included in your family pass as their entry is free.

Timings On Event Day

What time does the movie start?

Frozen 2 will start at 5.45pm

What time will the fireworks start?

The laser show and fireworks are to start at 9.15pm approx.

What time do gates open?

Gates open at 5.30pm

What time does the ticket office open?

The ticket office will be open at 4pm


Can I bring in food?

Yes, picnic-style only. No commercial foods such as KFC or boxes of pizza.

Drink bottles under 1 litre in size can also be brought in.

Can I bring in alcohol?

No. This is an alcohol free event

Is there parking on site?

Not on site, unless you have disabled accreditation

What if the weather is bad?

Any changes ticket holders will be notified and all information will be on the Trusts Arena website and social media.

Is it a council or funded event?

This is an event put on by The Trusts Arena supported by The Trusts and your purchase of tickets. There is no council funding, but this year the event was awarded funding from the Domestic Events Fund to ensure its viability.

Does the bouncy castle cost?

Yes, this is a separate cost on the day
